Welcome to Sun Room: the culmination of the Desert Spring experience. The Sun Room is home to our four and five year olds, many of whom have graced our porches and playgrounds for years. The Sun Room children are accustomed to the routines of a school day and possess tremendous confidence in knowing what to expect from the environment, their peers, and their teachers. The Sun Room educators support each child by empowering them with resiliency and self-efficacy. Every child is given the opportunity to learn, practice, and hone their skills related to social and emotional learning, creative expression, physical development, and problem solving. The Sun Room teachers also serve as a bridge for children and their families to feel prepared for life beyond Desert Spring: Kindergarten! Regardless of which school a child attends, the children leaving Sun Room will be prepared to:
- Ask questions
- See a plan through from start to finish
- Advocate for themselves and others
- Take responsibility for their actions
- Consider the environment and community
- and – of course – give the best hugs ♥
