The Monsoon Room prepares children for the independence that blossoms as children approach three years old. Families can expect familiarity in routines, expectations, and schedules, as well as low teacher to child ratios that were introduced in Rainbow Room. Over the course of the year, Monsoon Room educators support each child to be more fully independent in taking care of one’s self, making and following through with decisions, and problem solving social dynamics. Monsoon Room educators also support parents with the newest version of their young child who (seemingly over night) begin strongly expressing opinions, asking lots of questions, and exploring their world fearlessly. Over the course of year in Monsoon, children will be introduced to
- putting away their own things
- taking shoes on and off
- cleaning up after ones self
- using the potty
- considering the needs of the others
- and so much more!
